Medical treatment is available at hospitals and private clinics. With the exception of dental care, consultations function on a first-come-first-serve basis. It is thus not necessary to make prior appointments. (However, some hospitals are busy with many patients, so please check with the hospital/clinic beforehand.) Examination hours are usually from 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00, Monday-Saturday. However, it is advisable to check the times prior to your visit as hours may differ. Medical care is very expensive in Japan, so please make sure you arrange for health insurance coverage as soon as possible.
